LET'S TALK ABOUT SEX

In 2013 the average wage difference between males and females was almost $13,000 a year. By looking at the Wage Distribution chart it's very obvious that men are getting paid more than women.  Take a look at this viz to explore the wage gap.

  1. Beautiful viz - thanks for posting it! I was hoping you could share the workbook. Curious how you got the info and question buttons to work. Tooltips go away too quickly. Perhaps a floating workbook with an action filter?

  2. Thanks Peter! If you send me your email address I can send you the workbook. The info and question button text was typed directly into the tooltip. A floating worksheet might be a nice option to keep the pop-up text up longer, great suggestion!

  3. Hi Brittany,

Thanks for this great information! We are planning to break out the info for the metro areas in our region on the South Dakota Dashboard site.

We wanted to double-check that this data all refers to full-time workers? Or perhaps you could direct us to the Census site where you found the data, and we could pin that bit down?

    Many thanks,

    1. Hi Denise,

The Census table that I used was S2401. It looks like it's all workers but there are lots of other tables so I'm sure you'll be able to find something.

      Thanks!
